Free, and not the kind with a catch. No account, no trial, no tier that unlocks the feature you needed. Both apps are free for everyone, forever.
Nothing passes through us. Files move between your machine and your servers; mail moves between your machine and your provider. There is no Ferry cloud in the middle, because there is no Ferry cloud.
Your secrets stay encrypted, on your computer. Passwords and tokens live in an AES-256-GCM config file you own and can move. Neither app has a screen that prints one back to you.
Built for Claude, safely. Each app ships a command-line tool and a Claude skill. Both work by connection or account name, so an assistant can do real work without ever handling a credential.

What is Ferry?

Two free desktop apps from Buzzerboy. Ferry moves files over FTP, FTPS, SFTP, Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage and any S3-compatible storage. Ferry Email is a mail client that handles all your accounts at once. They share a look and a philosophy, but they are separate downloads and neither needs the other.

Do I have to use both?

No. Install whichever is useful. They don’t talk to each other and neither one nags you about the other.

Are they really free?

Yes, both, for everyone. No account, no trial, no paid tier. There is nothing to upgrade to.

Do my files or emails go through your servers?

No. Ferry connects your computer directly to your servers and buckets; Ferry Email connects it directly to your mail provider. We run nothing in between and store nothing.

Which operating systems?

Both run on macOS 11 and later and on Windows 10 and 11, as small native apps. Ferry Email has installers for both today; Ferry’s Windows installer is being published shortly.

Can Claude use them?

Both ship a command-line tool and a Claude skill. Claude works by connection or account name while the credentials stay encrypted in the app, so it can move files and triage mail without ever handling a password.
